I found this the other day and I don't know if its even worth a second look because I am still learning. It was so shiny for a circulated 1960 penny and seems like a good start for inquiring more cool knowledge from avid collectors. I only have my android camera so sorry about the pic qualities and dif lighting..and I can take pics of the reverse if anyone would say it might be worth the time. So if you were to find this how do I go about evaluating it and what did you gather.

Not particularly rare or valuable.

It probably sat in a penny jar for many years and was cashed in. Coins from the early 1960's had a higher relief than current coins and tend to look better than similar graded newer coins.

It is a keeper for sure, worth a couple cents...

Check and see if it is a small date. If it is, its worth quite a bit in that condition!
Here is some help for distinguishing small and large dates: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/...alldate.html
by the way, welcome to CCF! Hope you learn a lot.

im 99% sure its a large date, the more common one. anyway, its not worth much, but keep it if you like it! I sometimes keep really nice ones I find

It IS a "large date" Philadelphia mint. Not rare. Not "valuable" (on May 6, 2016, 10 rolls (500 coins) in uncirculated condition sold for $39.99 and that INCLUDED shipping. That's about 8¢ per coin in better condition than yours.)

That year they changed the dies, and two types were made, "small date" and "large date". The mint explained it had to do with a problem with the die chipping out in the 0 of 1960....but read this:

If you're thinking of - or have already started - collecting lincoln cents, that's a good one to keep as your 1st Circulation Coin. Good to see you here,
