Coin roll hunting is awesome! But, I need to vent before getting back to more rolls:
1. To the fellow who returned those rolls of dimes, and then taped the ends shut, so that the bank wouldn't check that you put only 49 dimes in every five dollar roll, I just wanted to say: I got your rolls. Thanks.
2. To the fellow who owns the fountain: Congratulations on owning a fountain. It must be great to get all the coins thrown in throughout the years. When you decided to clean the fountain of coins, and put all of the rusty, wet, moldy, corroded, slimed, nasty, smelly cents into paper rolls, I just wanted to say: I got your rolls. Yes, I probably got all of them. (P.S. The 1918 cent almost made it worth it for me). Next time, at least dry the coins first.
3. To the fellow who consistently placed 1 Canadian penny in every roll in the box, I just wanted to say, yes, I got your box. I live in the USA, however.
4. To the fellow who strangely added dimes randomly in the penny rolls: I just wanted to say: you're awesome! It took some of the sting out of #1 above.
5. To the fellow who kept putting buttons and small batteries that jammed the PNC coin sorter: I was about to open an account at PNC, but the banker told me about you and why the machine won't be serviced any more.
6. To the fellow who draws a large infinity sign on the nickel rolls you have searched, I just wanted to say: I got some of your rolls, and you missed a very cool coin! Thanks.
Ok, I feel better now. Back to the coins. Does anyone else have a rant?

I have one... 1. To the fellow that dumped a Wheat cent collection... Thanks! That MS-63 RB 1938 wheat was a nice circulation find, and the G-06 1909 VDB and F details 1921 S were pretty nice as well!

1. To the guy that constantly leaves foreign coins in the reject slot, thank you! Now I have a small collection of foreign coins.

No rants here. Although I've got several Canadian coins in my rolls, I still get a kick out of them since finding a Canadian cent in my change when I was a kid in Florida in 1970 helped spark an interest in looking at my change!
It's all about the simple pleasures!

1. To the person who marks the halves with a magic marker so he can tell if he is getting his dumped coins back, 90% alcohol is cheap and works very well. You have probably been sorting the same coins for years.
2. To the person who goes through the trouble of making Magician Coins, the neighbor kids thank you.

I've had Cents in a few Nickel rolls recently.... And back when I could afford to search Halves and Quarters, consistently had to deal with marked rolls. I didnt search dime boxes often...still dont. But, overall, it's just part of the deal when you CRH on a regular basis. You can't escape to an area of the country where CRH'ers don't exist, it seems, and eventually become mired in the results of their notorious methods which are bad for everyone else following them. I'm happy to see the rant....speaks for all of us...

1. To the fellow that marks every coin they search, you ruined several good upgrades for my collection with your big fat black marker.

The good news is that most marker damage can be removed with an acetone soak/rinse.

To the company that wraps my halves, wish you'd consistently put 20 coins per roll ($10.00) instead of so many rolls with only 19 coins ($9.50). If you're only going to put 19 coins ($9.50) per roll at least make one of them silver so I can profit too.

I got some penny rolls once at our local bank and when I opened them, each roll had about 45 pennies and the rest were buttons and one roll had a small pebble. Well the bank here makes you put your name and account number on the paper, so I took them back and asked for a credit and got it, but more importantly they contacted the guy who brought them the rolls in the first place. You'd think living in a two bank town you'd know better then to try and ripoff the bank.

Tony, getting shorted on rolls is lousy I agree. But whining to the bank is the last thing a regular roll hunter wants to do, as it's the fastest way to get cur off. Can't begin to count the times I've been shorted over the years. Best to just eat the loss.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

The cent's I've been getting in machine wrapped rolls, and the dimes that only had 46 in the roll.

I once got a dime roll with only 43 dimes... I usually don't buy boxes so this doesn't happen to me often. Just happened the teller and I BOTH weren't paying attention and inspecting the rolls that morning. Probably a lack of caffeine is at fault. In contrast, I had Three Cent rolls with dimes in them yesterday, one of which also had 5 extra cent coins. Had another roll with 56 cents... I also had a MWR of nickels which was 4 cents short - had a cent instead of a nickel. I came out like 50 cents ahead when all was said and done. :)
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

to the people who are about to deposit a 1938s nickel.... please do it, and do it as often as you can. I still need to find one of your deposits.
