Have had this 1946 Lincoln Wheat for along time. Have read about the copper casings that were used for this date. Is this common for this year? Have searched the Web, but to no avail. The last time I did a search maybe 10 years ago or more I did come across one or two. Thanks

It's a good looking Lam. What do you want to know? They occurred throughout the entire Wheat series.

Looks like part of the lamination has peeled off the 6 on the date. (note the weakness of this digit) Nice find. Don't clean it, it might fall off.

Thanks coop,
Have no intention of ever cleaning it, have it in a cardboard/plastic holder. Seems to have enough metal not to loosen.
