hi! I found this coin among the coins my grandfather brought back after WWII - there were US and foreign coins.
I've tried identifying this coin online to no avail. to me it looks like a left facing male bust/profile. and maybe a "G" on the front - first letter? back is a mess. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, can you post a picture of the other side? also a bit more detail about the coin, what size? compare to US coinage perhaps?

He brought a George II halfpenny back from WWII? Seems like the time period is a bit off. Regardless, interesting coin! You may want to post it in the exonumia forum to get some info on that counterstamp.
