I can't tell if this is an inverted S or a regular S from the 1946.
Can anyone help me out?

Well after some time looking at this coin wondering if it were an inverted mint mark. I came to a conclusion that this is not an inverted mint mark. While the location looked close to the die #2, the location was not correct. So I though I wuld give it a side by side comparison.

While the damage made it look like an inverted mint mark, the serif style looks more correct. Always nice to be real sure. But it is not an inverted mint mark.
