Ok, I'll stop after this one but I thought those who try photographing their vams might like the details in this one. I've got eleven or 12 different 1921-D Vams but I just grabbed this one to photograph with my new Full Frame K1. Thoughts? Be sure to click each picture to get the full effect

Very nice! The thumbnail looks a bit over-sharpened, but the full size image is OK. Maybe the forum software is adjusting the sharpness a bit too much when it creates the thumbnail?

On FF, your magnification needs to be higher to fill the sensor versus APS-C. You're probably around M=0.6 for this shot. What was your aperture setting? At 100% I can see what looks like diffraction softening, but very little of the type of blurring I usually attribute to sensor demosaicing. I'd be very interested in seeing just how sharp the 100% image can be. Would you mind taking a similar shot, but at f4? At f4, your effective aperture is larger than the DLA of your camera, so we can see what the full-resolution sensor output looks like. The K1 DLA is f7.6. At f4, your effective aperture is 4(1.6) = f6.4. I expect you will need to VERY carefully focus to get a crisp shot across the whole topography of the Dollar. I'm not a Morgan dollar expert, but I think the Eagle's eye is pretty much in the middle between field and Eagle's chest, so is the best plane for critical focus.

In the camera menus, is there any adjustment for "Picture Style" or similar effects? What are your settings for these shots? Do you have any adjustment available for in-camera sharpening? If you do, and you have time for the experiment above, please turn any in-camera sharpening off so we can see the true sensor output after demosaicing.

By the way, I am getting ready to buy a K3 based on the excellent results you're getting on the K1.

Pulled the trigger on the K3-II. Got a very good price from Adorama. $80 cheaper than yesterday.
