I think the color is fine. A couple months ago I almost bought a gnarly purple 09p that looked alot like that one for $25 but I passed. Went back the next day and it was gonzo. I regretted that for weeks. Thanks for stirring up old regrets chris.

I have no idea if the color is true or created, but it sure does make a pretty coin!! Sorry Cascade, I know the feeling. I let go of 2 certified Liberty nickels awhile back and it has eaten at me for the past 2 years!!

Color looks good to me... Note that it appears to tone into a wood grain patter of sorts, almost like an improper alloy mix toned?

Very nice wheat

The reverse looks very original and attractive.
The mint luster is intact, which is assuring.
I really have problem with the obverse.
First glance gives me impression the original patina is gone and recolored.
Does it have a strong mint luster as the reverse?
I have a very similar coin with purple toning and graded as MS64BN. The color looks natural. The question is whether the obverse is recolored.

Md, I think it's just the exposure, lighting and camera technique giving the obverse a juiced look

That is beautiful. Be careful not to drool on it. It could ruin the coin.

Haha. Thanks yall, yeah I was having trouble getting my camera and my light to agree with each other. I picked it up on an auction. Yes the obverse and reverse have the same luster. Thinking of sending it off for a cert

I'd do it... It would be better to slab this bad boy so you could...
A) sell it and the buyer would e sure it wasn't fake toning
B) protect the coin... Not only the color, but it would be a huge shame if that coin got scraped up by a staple!

Very nice coin, Chris. The color worried me too at first but it does appear to be a lot of exposure and glare (from flash?). The 2nd pic (the first one of the reverse) is !
