I have been looking at this coin for a week, because
Cascade sent me a message asking if it was a 42 or 42A

I think I have figured it out, that it is a VAM 42A.
My pictures are not great, but in hand I can make out
the die clash. I see the top of the wreath from the
reverse going into Liberty's hair.

I guess I am posting to see if my pictures are good enough
to verify if this is the correct VAM?

Also I am sending 10 coins to ANACS tis week, I might send
this one ... opinions on if it is worth having them add the
VAM number to the label?

I think I see a clash behind her head. The "U" in United States is right on There appears to be an extra little part on middle arrow tip as well. So I would say it is a 42A. Congrats!

If you send it in I would have them verify and label it as such. Gonna do same thing once I get 5 or more that deserve to be sent in.

You're looking for letter transfer to differentiate 42 to 42a. If you can see part of the N under the wing line clash at her neck then it's 42a which I'm 90% sure it is but the toning makes it tuff to tell. John Roberts will sort her out for you

I am slighly worried about an old dip and retone but even if so it should make it into a righteous slab. Very nice coin GR!

Cascade
Now I am back to looking at it, but my old eyes might not be good enough.

I do agree it is either a VAM 42 or a 42A.

I did not know the 42 also has clash of wreath and at the neck.

I do sort of see something in the "V" of the hair ..l but not sure what
I am seeing

I'm pretty sure, like 95% it's 42a. I see the clash under the hair V as well as the partial N. I'm just leery to say for sure from these pics especially with the dark toning. If you want and can get a good zoom pics of the neck clash area and hair V area maybe we can confirm 42a. I'm really pulling for 42a for both of us you GR!
