Eric turns 105 today! Born May 25th, 1911 in St. Louis, MO. WOW, according to my friend Mark Borckardt (Heritage Auctions) Eric is doing well physically and mentally still as sharp as ever. I'm currently reading his autobiography "Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman" excellent read. We all owe a debt of gratitude for his amazing research project the Newman Numismatic Portal; https://nnp.wustl.edu/ an amazing amount of articles, links and scans of older books, periodicals and auction catalogs is there for free for all of us to use. The only bad thing about it, is that it makes some of my really old auction catalogs a lot less rare now that they are up for free. "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Amazing for someone to live so long and done so well.
I have to wonder if his love of coin collecting has anything to Do with his long life. Giving his something to wake up for everyday.

Happy Birthday to Eric! I lived in St. Louis for 6 years before I moved to NC. I still have lots of family up there.
