I recently bought a lot of old coins and I could identify most of them but I did come across 1 coin that I can not seem to find any information anywhere (I'm actually quite new at collecting coins). I was wondering if someone could help me out.
please and Thank You,
-M

@notabagel, welcome to CCF! You have a cast cash coin from China. It is pretty rough, but in my opinion it is from the Qing Dynasty. The emperor's name is Gao Zong and it was made between 1736 and 1795. These coins are pretty common, but it is kinda cool to have a little disk of metal from the 1700s!

China, Qianlong emperor, 1736-1796. Mint mark is very worn, but looks like either Board of Revenue or Board of Works, both in Beijing. Looks like the Shan Lung reign title, believed to have been used after ca. 1770.

This is one of the most worn examples I have seen, and was probably in continuous circulation until it was demonetized in 1912.

These coins are stupid common--I have about 80 of them. They had the buying power of about a (modern) quarter in their time, and can be bought in bulk for that price all day long.
