I am hoping that some one has encountered this problem and has solved it. In putting Half Dimes into a type album, I find that because of their thinness they slip between the plastic slide and the inner part with the hole cut outs for the coins. I would appreciate any help.

I only use Mylar 2x2's of appropriate hole size, in archival quality album pages. I use copper plated staples. All of the purchase information for each coin including date purchased and description of the coin where required, is noted on the 2x2.
Can't do that with a pre printed fixed album. Fixed albums cant accommodate slabs, either.
Slab albums are avialable, but I don't like slabbed coins. You can't note the provenance, description and purchase information, where required, of a rare coin on the slab.
I sold off my empty Dancos decades ago; too inconvenient for my storage / display approach.

Thanks sel 691. that of course is the problem. I have transferred from 2 x 2 mylar holders trying to get away from them. Oh well, the best laid plans.

My writing is messy but the appearance my whole collection could be improved with a printer label maker.
The reason why I have not gone down this track is that I do not have enough confidence that the labels would stick permanently over staples over a period of decades.

Have you looked into the possibility of using a round "Airtight" to put the coin in then add it to the album. Hopefully the airtight will be slim enough to do the job

Sounds like a Dansco. Consider trying other brands.

I have used a few 'Airtights' inside 2x2's, but they don't work well with large coins inside 'Airtights', inside 2x2's, or with thick coins.

I do not have this problem with the Half Dimes (or the thinner silver Three Cents coin) in my Dansco 7070. It sounds like the outer layers of the album are loose (stretched out). If that were the case, I would suggest getting a replacement page, but those are just as scarce as the album itself.

Thanks for all the replies. It is not a Dansco, but an unused vintage Library of Coins album. I don't think an air tight would fit in the opening. I have no problem with the 3 cent silvers. They are a snug fit. I wanted the Library of Coins album because it has spaces for the types not covered by the Dansco 7070. It is not without flaws though. It has a space for the Isabella Quarter and the Lafayette Dollar of all things.

The other thing I have had some success with is to use a shim, a very narrow piece of paper (use an archival quality of paper) put between the edge of the coin and the edge of the hole (in an arc).
I have done this for coins that are of varied size (such as large cents) to keep them from rotating, so slightly different problem, but it might be worth a try.

I have used similar to KenKat's suggestion.
But made the shim from plastic coin flip.
Sometimes when I have this problem it was because the coin I was trying to fill the hole with was very worn. When I upgraded to a better grade the coin stayed in the hole better.
