My dad recently came across this cigar cutter made from a medal in a glass frame that is allegedly from the Oval Office. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not it's legitimate, and, if it is, how much it's worth.

first

I doubt if the coin is authentic but I will leave that to those who know more than I.

If you do not have good solid provenance of this coming from the White House then you are out of luck. If you do not have a copy of a legitimate inventory list of items in the oval office from whatever president then all you have is hearsay.

It is kind of cool though.

I'd love to see more pics. It's a fascinating item.

People have done all manner of things to coins so it could be genuine.

Thanks for the replies!

It's in a glass frame at the moment, so I can't really get a picture of the back right now. Will post as soon as we are able to remove it.

Just waiting for the new pics. This has me really curious. I've seen coins used as charms on bracelets and welded to money clips -- but this is the first cigar cutter I've seen.
