Sorry for stealing the idea from Moe's "Days Of" threads, I just want to see some wheat cents So now, may I present to you... The second act of Lincoln Cents! How it Works On the first day, July 2nd, 2016 (TODAY), we will all post our 1909 wheat cents. We will continue posting until we reach 1958. It will be a sad day Rules: -1 Day grace for catching up (rule doesn't apply to key dates ) -Only Lincoln Wheat Cents -Major error and variety coins welcome Calendar 6/2/16- 1909 6/3/16- 1910 6/4/16- 1911 6/5/16- 1912 ... A decent 09, except for the carbon spot A nicely toned 09 VDB You'll have to believe me but the larger pile is 09 and the smaller one is 09 VDB. I also have about 5 or 6 more rolls to go through that are just labelled 1909. I do have a proof 09, but that's not at my house. One of these days I'll get a good picture of it. I actually got this one on CCF - from either coop or coppercoins if I am remembering correctly. The back story to the coin was that some small part of it was used in photos to illustrate some aspect of the 09 VDBs. The back of the coin is toned somewhat darker - more towards the brown side - but it is still a nice coin and the obverse has nice color. The lighting on the photo is indoor, halogen, which tends towards the red end a bit but is accurate for how they look in that type of light.
