Great Morgan dollar in beautiful shape, high points are nice and great detail, one of the best 1921s that I have seen.
Im just not sure if the "Plus" on the face is error or PSD, I have never seen one in that shape before and was just curious if it is an error. Picture does not do justice but with angled view and feel the area in question is raised higher than surrounding area.If it is an error on such a great quality coin does it bring value? I know the die cracks are common with Morgan dollars but this one seems prominent and the coin is well taken care of, any thoughts?

It looks to me like it has suffered some damage after being minted.

The X marks the spot where the face lift was to start . PMD and makes this coin a cull dollar.
You can buy a super nice 1921 for well under fifty bucks.

If this is one of the nicest 1921s you have seen, you need to get out more often.

The "plus" does seem odd. Seems more than a random act of graffito, especially if the " PMD" is raised like two nails carefully pounded in. Is the "plus" magnetic? Need better photos. Take the dollar out of the 2x2 and post close-ups if you have the lenses.

I have a complete collection of Morgans, mostly inherited and lower or mid grade, and was amazed when others on this forum displayed myriads of BU, MS, PL, DPL and DMPL specimens. I love my Morgans because they've done their duty in circulation and each has a story.
Rest in Peace

That mark on the face is caused by PMD, and in most cases a knifing of sorts. Once the coin is cut into, a little wear will cause the raised appearance.
