Hi!

I would be grateful for help with this jeton/token. I have no idea who made it, I've only found somewhere that "B." on the reverse is for "Breslau". But I cannot check it, so it's just a suggestion...

I would not assume that it is from Breslau, unless you have something more definitive. It might lead you down a blind alley...

@dagonX, this is way outside of my area of expertise, but I wonder if the letter "U" is smaller and raised for a linguistic reason. For example, perhaps it is an abbreviated form of the German word "und". In that way, this could be a token from "H___ & J____". Can you give us a little information about the provenance?

@oriole, I know but this the only info I've found on the Internet.

@spence, I'd like to tell something more about the provenance, but I cannot. The last owner has no idea about this jeton, just like me now. And I am pretty sure that you could be right with this "u" means "und". I thought about it too and it looks probalbe. Maybe "F" is for the last name and "H" and "J" are for names?

The last owner

Is he/she German? Or Polish or something else?

Knowing the last owner is from Poland the B for Breslau seems more likely. I would suggest to look up old company names from Breslau as the F might stand for "Firma", meaning company.
So this token could have been issued by a company with the Name H___ & J___ from Breslau.

This might be a blind alley but it might help to check old German address books from Breslau.
