I am puzzled by a coin that seems to be denominated in Lepta but looking more Russian than Greek. Would some kind person please identify it for me?

I agree, this is a Siberian denga.

I didn't think they're rare enough in lower grades to really be worth faking (there's one on ebay right now for $10 BIN, apparently), but apparently there are fakes of everything, unfortunately.

Siberian coins are worth from 140 - 400 $ so yes they are forged a lot. For example from polish main auction site 3 fakes:
