Back on May 28th I received an email from the US Mint to take a survey and a possible invite to participate in an in-person focus group for potential future products from the US Mint. This is event is taking place in the Los Angeles area. Last night I received a phone call stating I had qualified for this focus group taking place next Wednesday and that I'll receive $125 for my participation. I'll post an update after Wednesday's focus group. Has anyone else received this or similar offer?

I have taken some surveys, but have no invite.
It will be interesting to hear about the process.
If you don't mind me asking .. how much, how many products do you purchase from the mint.
I am wondering if that had anything to do with your being selected. Or maybe it was how you answered the survey.

Or did your purchase pattern change significantly... nothing to lots or lots to nothing?

I've done focus groups for food services. I'm willing to bet you are going to have to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

Not me.
Maybe they only sent it to people within a mileage radius in a certain geographic area who would be able to make it to the in person location.

So this focus group was centered around possible packaging options for the 2018 WW1 commemorative coins. As well as the packaging for U.S. bronze medals.
The Mint is redesigning the boxes for proof sets, for both silver & clad coins. This design reminded me of the boxes from 1992 - 1998 with black for silver and green for the clad coins.
It was interesting to go through the process for future Mint products. There were 11 other participants in this focus group and we were provided with sandwiches and bottled water.

Might be worth writing a personal letter to the U.S. mint if anybody else may be interested in taking part in such a survey.
For $125, there may be quite a bit of active participation involved that could take some of your personal time, and perhaps some effort as well.

I did a survey for car colors a couple of years ago. Easiest $200 ever. Seems like rates have been going down. I get called for $50-75 now by same company once or twice a year. This one sounds wicked pissah!!
