Just came across my first "Bird's Nest" Chip/IDB? It has lots of other die cracks and chips to go along with it. Thought it would be fun to try and diagnose this one. Thanks for all your input. I am not familiar with the die clashes but did some side by sides and nothing stood out in my eyes. This has been a fun learning experience - Thanks for mentioning the possibility of a clash. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/04/2016 8:37 pm The die was in its later die state when your coin was struck. I was wondering if the marks near the roof were caused by a die clash or in this case a breakdown of the die. Kind of a Progressive indirect Design Transfer of the base of the bust on the reverse die? I know this is a cent image, but see how it transfers in that area of your last side by side image. I've not see the PIDT on a single squeeze die though. But that was what caused the die damage on the reverse die that struck your coin. Report this Post to the Staff
