Well, we are tight once again on cash, so we need to sell some coins my grandpa left us. Does anybody have a clue on what these would bring in?

I have never seen that particular coin before, not sure if it is a U.S. Mint product or not, sorry I can't help, but I am interested to know what it is ! Not having a date on the obverse makes me think it is a reproduction/commemorative of some sort.

PSP,

There were a series of these released leading up to the US Bicentennial. A quick Google search revealed a pair of 1974 and 1976 for $20. They seem to call them "1 oz. gold plated silver". Hope this helps.

That's a first day cover, it's a medal. They sell on ebay for 2 to 5 dollars.
