Looking for anyone who knows if this is an error or just a fake trying to be passed as a real error. On the outer edge the coin looks as if the die is swirled. Unfortunately my pictures are not as good as I would like but the center is more vibrant. The last photo is of the correct color

to CCF. What are you seeing as a possible error?

The first three pictures are to show the coin closer. The last photo shows the bright yellow. This looked out of place to me

One possibility is that it may have been in a roll and it started to tone from the rims inward.

As to the color, it looks like some sort of staining from a liquid of some kind. Reminds me of a coin you would find at the bottom of a cup holder in a car.

to the forum. I agree it has had some sort of environmental damage after the strike. It also looks like the die that struck it had a lot of wear. It's definitely spendable.
