Purely bullion edition.
Will be sold as any other RCM bullion - without the capsule and hidden "milk spots"

RCM probably makes a last squeeze out of Superman theme.

But coin is nicely designed, worth to get couple of them.

It certainly is way better. Anyone wondering why?

Don't be misled by face value. According to specifications:

A $5 Canada Maple Leaf is 99.99% fine silver at a weight of 31.1035 grams.

A $20for$20, 99.99% fine silver weighing 7.96 grams.

Current silver price is about $0.70 per gram, you do the math:-)

main reason, Imo:

cause the 20for20 Superman is ugly designed coin.

Yes that too! I just couldn't resist using this example to illustrate why XforX is a very poor buy in terms of silver content.

yes but the 1 ounce bullion will have a premium of greater than 8$ , as compared to a regular 1 ounce maple with a premium of 3.50$..

Good comment! I'm actually not a collector of Maple Leafs, Superman or otherwise, but it pains me that folks might be misled to believe that xforX has a good chance of future appreciation based on its silver content.

The silver premium on one $20for$20 is appx $15!

And if the same cost per gram of silver at $2.51 for one $20for$20 was applied to one silver Maple Leaf, an issue price anywhere less than $78 per Maple Leaf would still be a silver buying bargain.

Keep in mind, you are comparing Bullion with Numismatic. it's unfair to compare regarding price. But I do agree, the bullion design is simple and nice. But keep in mind, Especially when it comes to RCM, Bullion = 90% chance of milk spot developing.

Wonder why there isn't a bullion section on these forums...

Anyways, these look great, only 1 million produced, that is decent for bullion, if silver prices stay about the same these should hold a good premium, if spot increases, even better, we wont go to the "if spot drops" lol. No need to discuss that since we all know what that will mean.

SGB has them for those in Canada that dont wish to ship from the US etc.

Where are we all ordering from? SGB has a shipping cost comparable to the price of a SML. I do not want to but $500 at once, just a few a week if possible. I may just save up and buy a roll at once.

It probably depends on the quantity in the order.
Since I usually order 2-3 coins max, so waiting for local dealers. The price will be in range of CAD 24 - 28 per coin plus shipping

This is another endless versions of bullion coins as those many privy mark units but at least this has a neat design if you are willing to pay the premiums, comparing the markup to a regular maple leaf bullion coin would give you the extra juice, probably half of that goes to DC. Comparing this to x for x is like apples to oranges, if silver tanks to 9.00 like in the late 90s, the x for x looks cool if you believe in them.

When I look at the 20 for 20 coins I see a reverse proof
specimen coin no different than the SML of the days
before the security lined field. There is no difference
between the bullion strike and the 20 for 20.
Talisman Coins sells regular and privy marked bullion and
the 20 for 20 in the same category Specimen. Sometimes
called Specimen BU (Brilliant Uncirculated).

Description of the 20 for 20 Canoe
"The Specimen Finish
This coin features the uniquely-Canadian "specimen"
finish, a three-fold combination of different finishes.
The design (raised area or relief) includes both
brilliant and mirrored surfaces, while the fields
(background) are subtly striated, resulting in a
contrasting, matte appearance. No other mint in the world
employs the specimen finish."

A search of the Talisman site for this finish includes
coins such as the SML, the Bugs Bunny and other 20 for 20
and the 25 Cent Bird Series in Cupro nickel, Zodiac 1/2
ounce $10 Silver coins and Glow in the Dark Dinos. All
are reverse proof which has the obverse with a shiny
queen on a linen type field.

http://talismancoins.com/search.php...ery=Specimen

The X for X has always been overpriced compared to
bullion. $20 for a 1/4 ounce is no bargain when compared
to $28 for a full ounce SML. The X for X has higher
mintages than some Privy marked bullion.
