Three of Dr. Courteau's works have been made digitally available by The J. Douglas Ferguson Historical Research Foundation. colonialtokens Pillar of the Community United States 840 Posts	Posted 09/05/2016 7:45 pm Doctor Courteau's tomes are legendary and most significant. However, a few areas should be understood... Dr. Courteau's verbiage takes some getting used to. Be patient. To conserve space, Dr. Courteau often uses abbreviations. Many entries are written in Old-English and have to be understood as such. i.e., the Old-English 'before' is understood nowadays as 'after.' The optics available in Dr. Courteau's era were not as precise as what we have today. Dr. Courteau had no access to a computer. Doctor Courteau never anticipated his work being wholly complete, but rather an excellent genesis for further research and investigation. A few proof-readers / printers oversights went uncorrected. I am mentioning this to be helpful and by no means to be critical, for Dr. Courteau's work is the best available. enjoy doug Report this Post to the Staff
