I have been thinking about starting a collection of these coins, but have the following questions:

1: Is there any difference between the business class coin and the clad proof coin? How can one tell the difference or are the differences minor. I know the proof coin would have no signs of wear on it, but so would the class coin that was taken directly from a mint roll.

2: Would such a collection have any value to anyone except for me?

3: Could I be setting myself up for frustration and a real hard time in amassing the album.

Here is an example of the difference between uncirculated and proof coins. This a 3 coin Mint set for the Acadia coin. The picture is not that great but hopefully gives you an idea.

I'd love to find these in my roll hunts.

I haven't concentrated on quarters in quite a while but maybe when I'm done processing my latest box of nickels.

I like State, territory and ATB Quarters. And I think all collectors, that
like modern coins, should have at least one set.

To me the better coins are the silver proofs and the "S" mint business
strike quarters.

Looking at RedBook mintages it shows that some of the silver proof
quarter have fairly low mintage. For example 2014 silver proofs mintage
is listed at 501,944. I know you can not compare a modern proof with
a older circulated coin, but I find it interesting that a 1932 D 436,800
the1932 S 408,000. Of course the survivor rate of 1932 quarters is
much different than modern proof quarters, but I feel if your buying moderns
focus on the lower mintage of more collected series.

As for the "S" mint business strikes. These were/are not being put into
circulation by the mint. And they are not put into mint sets.
The mint sells them in rolls and bags. The mintages seem to be in the
low to mid one million coins. I feel in the future these coins will be harder
to find. The proofs should be able to be purchases from most coin shops
for decades to come, but in my experience most coin shop are not stocking
"S" mint quarters.

To sum it up, these modern quarters can be bought now at a reasonable
price. Why wait until they are harder to find and higher priced.

From the mint, when I order my three roll sets, each quarter cost me
42.5 cents each. I think current prices for 2012 S through 2016 S business
strike coins range from .75 to 2.00 each.

Again .... All this is just my opinion.

I kind of think the 2 mint business strikes will be something of a sleeper.

I am hoping the "S mint" business strike quarters do not wake up until
the series is complete and I have a roll of each.

Love these quarters-does anyone really think they would extend the series to 2032 tho? Any idea when they would announce that if they did?

I have picked up a bunch of the s business strikes. By roll and bag from the mint they were the same price as the D and P quarters but with much much lower mintage figures. about 1 million a piece. I'm sure that almost all 100 are going to be bu for a long time and may never gain value in my lifetime but I still really like them.

I think a lot of collectors avoid them because they weren't made in 2010 and 2011. Therefore there is no complete set of them available, and also no spot for them in any albums so far. I think once these albums or pages are released that everyone who didn't buy them will be trying to fill the holes and can drive up the demand. But who knows. Stranger things have happened.

It all returns back to the basics, if you like them, collect them, if you don't then spend your time on other things.

This still bugs me, but I will get over it eventually.
