I don't know much about the 2 Cent series, but I'm curious about this example as it appears to have a die chip inside the upper 8 loop.
It doesn't strike me as a repunched date, but I could be mistaken.
Is this of any interest or a known variation?
Thanks in advance for looking.

Yep, you've got a known variety.
It is an RPD labeled KF-F6-RPD (from Kevin Flynn's book).
Described this way:
-- "Repunched 86 seen on the left side of the lower and upper loop of the 8 and 6. "
-- "Repunched 5 seen below the middle of the 5. "
