I bought this coin for 23 dollars at my local antique store.

Is it a fake?

Weight is 26.66 grams(seems low)
and a major rim ding shows copper.

It's most likely a fake. Obverse and reverse both look exactly like all the other fakes in terms of detail, color, and surfaces.

I know the owner of the store well he has a x-ray metal tester thing.
He was probably unaware the coin was fake and will let me me return it if it is intact a fake.

The denticles on the obverse look wrong to me, especially above PLURIBUS.
