An establishment I frequent had a large pile of these offered on the cheap, all in crisp uncirculated condition.

The "running horses" design is actually rather attractive, but by the time this version was being printed, the ability of the Iraqi government to produce a secure instrument was apparently severely degraded. The faux "watermark" and "embedded strip" are in particular laughable. I did like the serial number of this specimen (0600006).

There's an interesting article on these that can be viewed at:

I think the one I've posted here roughly corresponds to the second variation pictured there.

Too bad the Iraqi Dinar is going to be the drag on the market for the next 50 years, the earlier issues before around 1979 were well-designed and a good collectible.

This is rather interesting, and speaks to the aesthetics of this note's artwork - it's been appropriated as the basis for a home decor item.

I like that home decor aspect. Will need to hunt around for one since the coin shop in my area has a cranky guy who is very difficult to deal with and nearly resents answering questions. Hence, I no longer go there. Am getting more reluctant with "auction" sites even for this type currency. Will probably wait for a friend to find one for me.
