If there are new buyers, may not be the same as before. Might end up being like just ordinary people so you would have to start all over attempting to be treated like a regular customer. Maybe better, maybe worse. As to your story, happens alot in businesses. I remember may stores I went to in the past where I was treated almost as a member of their family. Then suddenly gone. Not just coin stores but all sorts of such places. With a coin store there was one when I was a kid that possibly kept me going as a coin collector. Such great deals and great treatment to a kid but then too, one day gone. At a flea market a coin dealer was like that too where he treated everyone as if family. That flea market closed and he just vanished. I guess it's all just time.

I don't know if I said this before or not but I started to go to Dons shop around 1971. He was at the Wenona hotel back then. Don and his better half are great people and they both will be missed by me and many more customers. Thanks for the great shop. John1

Great story, stud722. I know you're going to miss the owners and I hope the new owners are just as nice.
Your story reminded me of my high school days -- hanging around the music shop. The owner would let us kids play around on just about all of the instruments in the shop and he even helped finance a few bands that were starting out. But that was a long, long time ago.

Don and I will continue to be friends for a long time I am sure. I know they are planning on doing some traveling and enjoying the grandchildren but I will make him find time for me too

Quote: He was saying there are a few prospective buyers to take over the shop. Some of them were coming into town to take a look. Hope someone takes over and keeps the shop open That is good news. I hope for the best. Quote: The last post in this thread. I fixed the link to take it right to that post.

Our drive was 1 hour and 15 min. I would go there because my specific dentist was aside of his store. This only happened 1 time a year starting in 2012. My wife and Don grew up in the same area of, "The Thumb," This made a great connection.
