Hey there, I am a new member from SC. To begin my introduction, I will tell y'all how I got into collecting. My granddaddy passed down a rather large silver coin collection to me. This was a few years ago and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I researched some places around my area, but I couldn't find any place that I didn't think would rip me off. I had a trip planned to New York with my family, and I decided to take the coins with me. You know they say that people make more in New York, so I figured I would be able to sell the collection for more up there. I looked up some stores and ended up taking it to this place:

It is called Stacks. They did a great job and were very helpful. Sure enough, I got about 20% more for my collection than I was offered around SC. After I sold the collection for that much, I bought a Red Book and started hunting down coins. The coins I had sold were mid 1800 silver coins and early 1900s. I started hunting down gold coins because I felt like those would be worth a good bit.

Now, every time I go back to NY, I carry the coins I have acquired with me so that I can sell them! So I guess you could say that I collect to help put food on the table each month, but I also find it extremely fun hunting down a coin! It is thrilling.

So that is a little about me...now I collect lots of gold and some silver.
