Through a loupe this looks like a raised ridge just above the head outline the top along the hair.

Not doubling. I "think" it's die wear. Coop will know for sure.

looks like Die Deterioration to me.

I feel it is die abrasion from polishing. When you remove part of the field, what happens next to a device? It raises because it was polished a bit into the deeper part of the die. Thus leaving what we are seeing.

Die deterioration/wear is something all dies go through as they age.
Die abrasion is from polishing. This is different because it was intentional to remove something off the die that was undesired.
