I bought a Eisenhower dollar at a pawn shop. It says the coin is BU condition and the coin has a number: BA17-00040-oo7 on it and an insignia of a large B with a circle around it. Anyone ever heard of this service if it is a service. It is an Eisenhower coin Variety One I think 1776-1976. I did not pay much for it. The guy also tried to sell me a Gold Spanish Real which was in rough shape....I could not even tell if it was gold and did not recognized it, but the date was 1794.

I think I am familiar with that NNC (No name company) If I recall, the insert is black. Treat it like a raw coin.

It is a Bradford Exchange coin, currently one with the same serial number on ebay for $ 12.45. JFH

Not much of a serial number if they're they same.

Sounds like just a coin in a slab.

Sorry to hear that you overpaid. Don't throw pawn shops out the window, just come better prepared and don't feel stupid saying, let me think about it, then you can go and post here, find out what others paid on ebay etc. You can go back and buy it or pass on it.

The same pawn shop tried to sell me a old, gold Spanish coin. It was large and pretty thin, so I offered them $500. I knew I was going to have offer rejected, but at that point I just wanted to get out of the store. I was just asking on the way home from doctor's appointment for my wife and dropped in and found out I need Red Book under my arm any time I walk into a pawn shop to even consider buying a coin. I don't need pics to determine that the coin was from Bradford exchange and that I paid too much for it. It was a lark and I learned something: Buy your coins from people you know and trust. The coin I bought is what it is. It was graded and slabbed but I still got taken to an extent of $10.
