Just got some new 2x2s, and they have some debris on them. I have provided a picture down below for an example. What is the best way to remove it, without getting oils inside the 2x2? Thanks for the help.

Sometimes the Mylar film on 2x2's will electrostatically attract dust.
Wipe very gently, with a dry, lint free, microfiber cloth.

What I do is "flick it" with my thumb and middle finger a few times before I put the coin in it.I have tried wiping it in the past and it seems to scratch the Mylar.

I With John .
also if you want to spend the money , the air spray that they make for spraying away dust on your computer keyboard will work great .

I use a camera lens cleaning brush to remove debris from my 2x2s before inserting a coin.
It has a squeeze bulb attached to a very fine soft brush.Squeeze the bulb while sweeping and it blows air out through the brush.

A hard flick will dislodge all dust. I've been known to also whack the 2x2 mylar side down against my desk.

On someone's advice here on CCF (I forget whose), I bought a very inexpensive squeeze-bulb air blaster off of an Amazon shop (Chinese seller) that works very well to puff little specks of dust out of a 2x2 or an airtite or whatever. It took about 45 days to get here but was only $2 or so shipped. Hard to go wrong.

The flick trick and compressed air are also, of course, good options.

If someone is interested in the bulb blaster and has 45 days to kill, I will dig up the Amazon link.

I use the Giotto Rocket myself, a great tool I've been using since my professional photographer days.

Looks like they've discontinued them, so grab one while you can. Way cheaper than getting cans of air, and won't spew out any gunk either.
