I was contacted by an person on ebay stating "You know there is a lot of fakes going around and this is to clean for that year" I never considered that this coin could be fake and have personally never seen one. What do you think is it fake?

Thank you both for your replies. I am glad to hear that I am not accidentally selling a fake coin.

That is a ridiculous thing to say. 1967 half dollars are readily available in uncirculated grades. Moreover, the coin shown is nice, but not that nice.

Thank you all for your comments. I completely agree. This coin is nothing special, It is a common date in an average condition. I just wanted to confirm my sanity.

I've found lots of Kennedy halves that age or older while roll searching that were as clean and in as good or better condition. Many people fail to realize that people hoarded and still hoard Kennedy halves simply because they don't circulate much. I've taken halves into businesses and spent them only to see someone in the business buy them and take them home. Many non collectors probably think there weren't many half dollars made because they don't circulate, but in reality between 1964-1970 while they were 90% and 40% silver there were over 1 1/4 billion half dollars minted. Even here in the US I've had people ask me if they even make half dollars anymore. Though there's not near as many as in years past there are still a few million made each year.

The coin is too clean for that year. OK, IDIOT alert (idiot as in the idiot that said that to you). As the others said, you simply have a circulated and cleaned coin.
