Hey guys, I sent this 1866 w/Rays Shield nickel in to PCGS a few months back, and was wondering if I should resend it in for a variety designation. There looks to be doubling throughout the coin but I'm not too good in telling the difference between real and Machine Doubling. Any help appreciated!

The doubling at the bottom of the obverse is MD, the repunching of the stars on the reverse is not that unusual.

the date is MD for sure, unless it's a RPD there really isn't much in value to increase if it's labeled or not on the holder.

I was afraid it could be Machine Doubling lol. It's graded AU-55.

That date has a very shelf-like look to it, which is indicative of Machine Doubling.

NICE coin though!!
