i belive this is the 1961D 1 MM-003 listed on coper coins site. there are no matching die markers. I have learned that the absence of die markers - is not clearly a indicater that I do not have the correct attribution.

any opinios +/- are appreciated.

thanks.

wow.. both look possible...

i dont know how to do an overlay...
would that be any more conclusive?

i dont see matching die markers for either 003 0r 047.

i keep thinking I will get better at this - but so far I think I am getting more informed - but not better at attributing these.

Did you check the 047 LDS to see if anything matches there?

Mint mark style is key and then location. Markers may or may not be there pending dies state the coin was struck with.

Look closer at the location and you should be able to rule out 003. Thanks, Doug.

thanks for your comments. I have looked at both listings, 003 and 047. I do not find matching markers on either listing. I think my coin might be an earlier dies state thaan either of the coins listed on coppercoins site. the later dies stats have much more obvious markers - than I can observe on my coins.

again - thanks for you comments and observations..
