Speculation on what lead to this coin's current state. To me it looks like a cross between the pattern Trade dollar and a potty dollar, even though it is 1877. What do you think?

It's possible it was a potty dollar that someone took offense to and defaced.

The ground has obviuosly been worked on and there is clear evidence of a round chamberpot and lip to the pot still visible.

I find that Potty Dollar very disturbing. I will never be able to look at Miss Liberty the same again.

I think Conder is probably right. I'm surprised I've not seen a Walking Half with D-Cups yet.
