Can someone tell me why the Philly mint produces more doubled die errors on the shield cents? Or why the Denver mint doesn't produce them?
I live in Texas and when I get uncirculated cents they are always from Denver so I keep waiting for something to search for and there hasn't been much since 2010. Thanks
Seems like something is going wrong in the hubbing process. They machine for Denver must not be a worn as the one from Philly. But they see to have more doubled dies from the Philly mint.
The hubbing press at Denver is newer, and Philadelphia is also busier because they are not only making the dies for Philadelphia, but for San Francisco and West Point as well, plus the dies for the commemoratives and medals.
