i wanted to try this lens to see how it would. compare to the contax 120mm. I would say they are about the same. what surpriced me was I had to set the 100 mm. as far away as the 120 mm not much difference. great lens here are the pictures.

What is causing the shadow on the lower part of the coin?

its the way I am using my light. here is the image with 2 jansjo lamps. I was wondering why are the ribbs on the shield in front of the eagle. different sizes. this lens once focused is a great lens. the image details stand out with this lens. a slabbed coin is a hard one to photograph.
