Perhaps he wasnt familiar with the earlier PCGS slabs and thought it was a basement slab knock off of PCGS?

Thats why it went for $5. All buyers assumed it was just a BU 1937 dime in some sort of airtite.

yes all of the sellers coins are listed showing slabs if they are in one

Wow! Great buy.

It almost looks like a different coin. In the auction pics it looks like the coin is covered in some kind of filmy crud - must have been poor lighting or something.

It is the same coin. I has some very light gold toning which is what shows in the auction photos.
