Just picked this guy up, but I don't think that this token has been posted on CCF yet. According to the little pamphlet that came with this token from Maine:

Quote:
A Bicentennial Week will be held in Bridgton August 10-17 and as a lasting evidence of the milestone, 400 commemorative silver coins and 1000 bronze coins have been cast. The design was created by Andrew Sanborn of Bridgton.

Bridgeton is on the other end of Maine to me. Most of the northern medals were made by Aroostook Medal Company (Aroostook, Penobscotch, Washington county area).

I love how it came with a pamphlet with the mintages and artist. I know a guy up in Bridgewater, ME (Presque Isle) writing a book on Maine exonumia.

Do you collect New England exonumia too, spence?

@harmonica, well I live in New England and while I'm not actively adding to my exonumia collection, I do sometimes find interesting pieces. This was one of those pieces that seemed kinda cool. Just as an FYI, the town's name seems to have undergone a series of simplifications: Bridge's Town to Bridgetown to Bridgton (the current spelling). It looks odd without that letter E in there, but that is the correct spelling according to the pamphlet and wikipedia.

Also, sorry for the different sizes of my obv and rev pics. On this pieces, both sides are actually the same size.
