Picked up a few inexpensive coins this week.

The First is a billon Jital from the short Indian Kingdom of the Qarlughids. 1224-1266. They controlled ;lands of the Bamyan and Kurran valley.

This coin struck by Nasir al-Din Muhammad Qarlugh the second and last king ruled from 1249-1260. The obverse depicts a galloping horse with a Arabic legend. The reverse is a legend in Nagari.

Bl Jital
16mm x 3.5 grams
Reference: Tye 347, A-1819.

Excellent coin, Ron. A nice addition to your Indians - I know you have Kushans, Indo-Scythian, Chalukyas of Gujarat, Yaudheya, and Mauryan. You're doing pretty well covering South Asia!

I am a sucker for abstract depictions as in the horse here. Love those two little parallel lines for the ears. Great photos, btw...yours or the dealer's?
