I found this coin about a month ago and I thought the FG on it was the the one from 89.
I wasn't really sure because it's such a small detail.

Looks good to me. This is what the regular one should look like. Awesome find. I'm still on the hunt for one of these.

Looks like a winner to me. I have found one 88P and one 88D.

Thanks! I found this a couple days after I had read about them, and I just knew it was my imagination.

Thanks! It's great to be a part of a forum that is welcoming to someone new. Regular posters in forums become close and that can be very intimidating, but even the posts I've made where the things I thought about a coin turned out to be wrong, the comments aren't discouraging. It's tough being the new kid on a forum because everything you ask about has most likely already been asked multiple times, and it doesn't take much to discourage someone from wanting to interact with more experienced collectors.

Thanks CCF! great group to be a part of.

Nice find. I have been on the look-out for one for a few months now. No Luck. The cross bar is hard to see, especially on the more circulated ones.

Excellent Find! Glad you decided to post it. They are hard to come by and some have been fortunate like yourself and others not - like me. Keep coming back - some finds are good and other not, but this is how we learn and grow in the hobby.

I keep flipping them but so far no luck. Great to see someone post one. Congrats and best of luck on future finds.

great find ... another way to tell is by the font from 88 to 89 there is a difference too

did you find this in Texas ?
most finds for 88-P's are usually in the Northeast which is the easier place to find one

Yes, I found it in Texas, from a box I got from my local bank.
Thanks, dbrablec.
