Probably a science experiment or sales gimmick. I highly doubt silver, perhaps a coating of zinc

Either nickel plated, or rubbed with mercury.

to CCF. Need closer pics and a weight but I think it is plated with something making it post strike damage=PSD. Value one cent.

I would vote rubbed with mercury ...popular thing to do 30-40 years ago

I remember my science class had big bowl of mercury and everyone played with it
now if that situation happened today..the school would probably be condemned

99.999% nothing special but your best bet is to go to a jewelry shop and get the weight in grams and report back to us.

Lots of these were around when I was a kid. Made a few myself - you could buy mercury at the drug store.
