My banks here on Vancouver Island will no longer let you have any pennies, but we have had the occasional silver dollar

I was once working out of the city in a small town. These smaller towns are great for roll hunting. My biggest score was a personal record in sure to take to my grave. I used to get 4 rolls of quarters and 5 rolls of dimes each week. In my area, the banks have coin counters so you just dump your coins in the machine and they're gone, meaning you'll never get silver by swapping bills for rolls, since only newer coins stay in circulation. So I stopped doing it. But when working out of town, I figured I might as well try it. 2/4 rolls of quarters and 3/5 rolls of dimes were full rolls of silver. I had returned home before going through them so drove 2-1/2 hours back the next morning and tried to get more but after pretty much cleaning out the tiny branch of coins, there were no more to be found. It was like finding treasure. I was so excited, that my wife started making fun of me. Then I told her what all the coins were worth just in melt and she grew the biggest grin. I haven't found a single silver coin since and that was 2 years ago.

I've tried talking my local bank into letting me know if anything interesting comes in but I'm sure they're sick of me by now so want me in there as little as possible. Lol. Silver Half dollars would be way cooler even if the melt value was lower. Nice find!
