I'm not an expert, but my initial gut says this is legit but way over valued... I think this type of error is called die clash.. where the obverse and reverse dies smack together without a planchet between them, thus causing an impression to the other side and this coin was after that die clash.

Yes, it is a very nice die clash.
But worth about 2% of the asking price.
He is showcasing his coin.
Doesn't expect to sell it.
His items have come up frequently for discussion here.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Here is a picture of the same coin from a post last year when the the name being used was "coingringo"
Couldn't sell it then, won't sell it now.

jimmyd this is not the coin on auction this one looks like a better strike I think

I agree completely with DBM. The seller considers it a public service announcement rather than a serious offer to sell. It's a nice clash to look for.
