Alexandra New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 07/02/2016 04:38 am gold colored 1986 penny with no mintmark. Has anyone seen or heard of how this could come about? Aren't proof coins marked with a 'S' mint mark? Here are some photos. Please, any feedback would be deeply appreciated. It weighs at 2.6 and shows some wear... Otherwise, I'm stumped. You can buy a bottle of something (I forget the brand) and you just brush it on anything metal, and voila, instant gold plating. I do not know how durable this is compared to electroplating, though.
