Been searching some rolls for a while now...been pretty slow.

I did have a question or 2 on this 1982P LMC

This one weighs 2.5 grams on my scale. If I am right it make this one a plated coin.

Anyways the question I had is why is the "Y" in Liberty so skinny compared to rest of lettering? Doesn't look like it took a hit...just looks really skinny.

Also I have a hard time telling if it is a large or small date so a little help there would be appreciated.

There also appears to be 3 die cracks on reverse, 1 die crack coming out of 3 three of the corners of the monument extending to rim. I do have close-ups of these as well just didn't upload. You can kind of see them in picture below.

So what up with the "Y" and is this a Large or small date?

Thanks again...Mont.

The 2.5 grams means that it is a Zinc plated coin.
The fat tail on the 2 = Large Date
The small date 1982 will have the numbers all the same width. There are some guides on this forum as well as online that you can get more familiar.
I tend to find the Large date as much more common than the small date (Denver/Philly).

2.5 is a zincoln. The way I tell a lg from a sm is the 8,if the top of the 8 is smaller then the bottom, like a snowman would be then it's a small date. The die cracks on the revers are in typical location for a Memorial cent, design flaw. The Y in Liberty is from die polishing.
