KCFirstOfHerName New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 07/04/2016 4:55 pm Hello all!! I am struggling financially and found a nickel that is 1997 P jefferson. I think it is the matte nickel. I'm not sure.... I guess what I need to know is: were there other 1997 p nickels? and how do I sell the one I have if it really is worth something? Report this Post to the Staff

GR58 Bedrock of the Community United States 11951 Posts	Posted 07/04/2016 9:35 pm The mint made many millions of regular 1997 P nickels. There were only 25,000 matte proof nickels minted. They were released in the 1997 Botanic gardens commemorative set. It would be very rare to find one in circulation.
