I have been looking through many areas online for a possible price and verification of a 1997 / 6 date mark on a Roosevelt dime. It is clearly an over date night I can see the 6 under 7. On the river's Northern Edge it has what appears to be either damaged ora cudd. Just wondering if anyone can verify this is a listed error or not? I will include pictures if it is deemed necessary just more concerned if it's listed or not at this point. Thanks so much for any help that is given and have a wonderful day.
Actually the more I look at it it might be a 98/7 the seven stands out way more than the 8 I will have to upload pictures of it tomorrow I'm on my way to work
Not possible. They stopped punching dates into the dies back around 1907 to 1909. After that the only way to get an over date was to also have a doubled die when they hubbed the die with a hub that had one date, annealed it and then hubbed it with a hub of a different date. But in 1997 they switched to single squeeze hubbing and there was no longer the possibility of being hubbed by a second hub with a different date.
