insideout Pillar of the Community United States 591 Posts	Posted 02/27/2008 02:03 am I bought my first rolls of 2008 lincolns today. Well I bought a box and 10 rolls. Sold the box already. But I noticed on my loose rolls that there are gouges and large scrapes on the coins on the ends. IS this from the rolling machine? Or packing maybe? Report this Post to the Staff

just carl Bedrock of the Community United States 20753 Posts	Posted 02/27/2008 11:25 am Unfortunately some of the companies that roll coins and some banks that do their own have machines that have been used for a long, long time. As with any machine as tolerances become a little on the loose side, coins will spin, bounce, etc. If you want the best graded coins, avoid rolls if possible. All have gone through machines. If you ask at a bank and are lucky, you may acquire a $50 bag of brand new Cents prior to running through machines. If you know someone that works in a bank, easier abilities to aquire them.
