The date has either an extra D or a bubble. Can someone please identify what these errors are?

to CCF. Not an error. It is known as zinc rot.It is a spender.

to the Forum PaulG. I see you have it in a Petri Dish where it belongs. Maybe it will grow some little Zincoids. lol The mint uses the zinc because it's so cheap, but it's also inadequate for lasting coinage. They copper-plated them to ease the public's departure from the copper alloy cents. It turns out, the plating is all that holds them together. Once scratched, the zinc oxidizes and "rots".
